8.7.2018: An average day turned great

Today I woke up to the sound of rain tapping above me. It was a cold misty day. Quite typical for this time of year in Alaska. Though we all hope for that beautiful alaskan summer day unfortunately we have to take what comes. As I woke I check my phone to see if my boyfriend Andrew had gotten back to me from the night prior. He had. I received a quick “I love you and I’m okay.” You see he currently resides in Idaho where he is helping as a fire medic for the rabbit foot fire. I miss him terribly and wake up every morning hoping to hear from him. Most times I don’t due to lack of service up in the mountains, but that’s okay he is chasing his dreams and thats all I could ever wish for him. After doing my normal morning routine which consists of browsing my phones, a shower, and sometime a bit of coffee or tea I embarked on the day not knowing what was ahead.  It was just another average day. Yesterday evening I had placed a grocery order which I need to pickup that morning. So I headed to the store to pick up my groceries and proceeded to bring them home. After organizing the groceries I sat down and watched a few cooking shows, then I had a thought. I have been trying to find things to distract myself while Andrew is gone so I hadn’t read in quite awhile so I invited my brother to come along on a jaunt to the library there I checked out two book of which I plan on reading. One is the book the lovely movie Love, Simon is based off of and the other is the sequel to it. I love to read, but often don’t have much time for it so I have decided to make time. On the drive home from the library I received a call for a friend of mine she leaves for college in a few days and wanted to hang out. I quickly invited her to my parents house where I was currently staying while Andrew was gone. We watched Deadpool 2, Scooby Doo Cyber Chase, and Meet the Robinsons before decided to go on a drive to our favorite destination Hatchers Pass. It was so foggy in the mountains you could hardly see in front of the car. To be honest it was rather invigorating. I’ll miss my friends spontaneous drive for adventure while she is gone. Now I sit on my parents couch listening to one of my favorite pandora stations The Neighborhood with the window open listening to the pouring rain as I write my first blog. This is quite an interesting experience. So bear with me as I find my grove writing these blogs it may be a bit rocky in the beginning.

Have a great day!

Sincerely,
